Summer Camp

YMCA Summer Camp is a safe and fun way to enjoy the summer. Meeting new friends, learning new skills, having fun! Our camp staff is ready to help with memory-making day camp experiences. Have the opportunity to build self-confidence, independence, and creativity, and parents have peace of mind knowing your kids are in a safe and enriching place.

Aquatics Camp

Ages: 5-14 years

Campers will spend the week at the pool learning hot o be safe around water, participating in swim lessons and simple rescue techniques.  This camp runs 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. Specialty extension care is available to fill the day from 7:30 am – 6:00 pm, pack a lunch if they participate in this extension care. Please send a healthy snack for your child to enjoy mid-morning.

Athletics Camp

Ages: 7-12 years

If you child enjoys basketball, here’s a camp for them. your child will learn the fundamental skills of basketball while embracing Christian principles. Please send campers with water and a packed lunch. Camp day runs 9:00 am – 2:00 pm* with specialty camp extension care options for full day of care.

Counselors in Training

Ages: 14-16 years

If your teen is looking for more than just a fun time this summer, C.I.T. Camp may be just for them.  C.I.T. (Counselors in Training) is designed to give teens 14-16 who are interested in one day becoming a camp counselor or leaders in the community a head start on that experience.  C.I.T.’s get to work within our camps, assisting in leading activities and learning from counselors.  All the while, we focus on treating these campers as professionals, giving them opportunities to discover their leadership potential and explore their strengths.

Cost:
$25 one-time registration fee

Members: $30/week

Potential Members: $45/week

A $5 deposit is required for each week. The remaining balance is due the Thursday prior to each weekly camp.  Registration and any changes must be completed by this deadline for  each week that your child is registered. A $10 late fee will be applied after the deadline.  There will be no changes made in the middle of the session unless proper documentation from a physician is provided.


Full-Day Camp

Fun Factory

Fun Factory is our camp for ages 3-10 held at the YMCA. Each week of camp has a theme with field trips. Fun Factory provides a safe nurturing environment to learn, grow and thrive. Counselors focus on each child’s needs and work to make sure everyone is a part of the fun. Weekly activities revolve around themes which  include age appropriate games, swimming, field trips, sports activities, arts and crafts and songs.

Camp Mac Boykin

Camp Mac Boykin is an outdoor camp great for your 7 -14 year old. Each day is filled with swimming, hiking, sports, and many other activities centered around the weekly camp theme. Your camper will have a great time getting to know the kids in their age specific groups. All Camp Mac Boykin counselors have been properly trained and can’t wait to meet your camper this summer!

Teen Scene

Do you want your teenager to do more than watch TV and play video games this summer? Teen Scene is a great camp designed for teenagers, ages 11 – 13. Each camper will have an active summer and will have experiences they will cherish for a lifetime. Teen Scene helps teens see the world around them in a new light through field trips, service projects, and so much more.

Please bring a $25, one-time, enrollment fee along with a copy of your child’s immunization records to the Sumter Family YMCA. A $25 deposit per child, per week,  is also required at registration.
You may mix and match camp sessions throughout the summer (a week at Camp Mac Boykin, a week at Fun Factory, a week at a specialty camp, etc.)

Due to the many facets involved with summer camp, online registration is not available.

Gymnastics Camp

Ages: 7-12 years

In Gymnastics Camp boys and girls will participate in recreational gymnastics and tumbling. This week will develop camper’s self discipline and confidence while building strength, flexibility and coordination. This camp runs 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. Specialty extension care is available to fill the day from 7:30 am – 6:00 pm. Please dress in athletic clothing, bring water bottle and pack a lunch.
